Dwayne Eanes, CPA

Dwayne has served as Director of State Audits since March 2024. Dwayne served as Director of Quality Assurance & Training from November 2016 – March 2024. He was responsible for all areas of quality control and technical research for the State Agency and Medicaid Divisions and was also responsible for coordinating training agency-wide before assuming his current role as Director of State Audits. Beginning his career with Arthur Andersen LLP in 1999, Dwayne spent 16 years in public accounting, leaving a local firm in 2015 to take a position at the South Carolina Board of Accountancy.

A native of Danville, Virginia, Dwayne has lived in the Columbia, SC area since 2004. He is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, with a Master of Science in Accounting.

Dwayne is a Certified Public Accountant in South Carolina and North Carolina. Dwayne is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA), the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the Government Finance Officers Association of South Carolina (GFOASC), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and the National State Auditors Association (NSAA).
